When should my child start lessons?
There is a lot of discussion about ‘when’ a child should start. At A# Music Studios we believe that each child is unique and each child’s start time may be different. We have started children on instruments as young as 3 & 4 years old, however, many children may not be ready until 5 or 6 or even older. We are happy to consult with you about lessons and recommendations.
My Teenager wants to try several instruments. Do you offer lessons to allow for exploration and/or composition?
Several of our teachers are familiar with a wide range of instruments. We will do our best to customize a musical experience to fit your student. Our teachers are also familiar with a wide range of styles of music giving exposure to new styles and also helping to develop strong skills and understanding of different genres of music.
Am I too old to start lessons?
Starting music lessons as an adult can be rewarding and very beneficial. Music study is a very active brain activity along with development of fine motor skills and muscle memory. Many of our adults have enjoyed the recreational style of our piano classes. Music can be learned whether you are a young adult or retired adult.
I am new to lessons. How often does a beginner take lessons?
Most success is found with weekly 30 min lessons. As a student advances, sometimes longer lessons are wanted or needed to continue progress at an appropriate pace.
